One philosophy that a lot of us military types live by, is the concept of sheep, wolves, and sheep dogs, as explained by Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Dave Grossman. Grossman is the author of “On Killing”, a book I have read to help me write some of this comic. I read his passage “On Sheep, Wolves, and Sheepdog” a while back when I was still in the Marines. I’ll let you guys check it out on your own, if interested. But that passage was an inspiration to this part of the chapter.
I wanted the sheep to represent the types of people who seem ignorant to the fact that there are dangers in the world, or at the least, have zero situational awareness. To me, a hippie is an excellent example of this. So when we created the sheep in this chapter, I explained to Eri to give them the appearance of a hippie. You can see it in the hair style of the sheep, and the look of tie dye when they move in a flock.
